' The early success of Slater Walker , and the satellite systems in particular, created a monster that was beyond my personal control. The last 12 years have taught me some invaluable lessons which I intend to invest in my new endeavours.' (JIM SLATER) In The Money Programme, Jim Slater talks to James Bellini and Hugh Stephenson about his rise and dramatic fall, his view of the City and his struggle to build a new financial career.

In the slums around Lima children starve while Peru exports millions of tons of fish protein to feed our pigs.
A large part of Peru's most fertile land is devoted to cash crops - for export. Malnutrition is widespread. Indeed research by a young English girl points to a condition far worse than anyone expected. The spectacular high Andes are the source of the potato, one of the world's most important food crops. Yet even in Peru, potatoes are too scarce and too expensive.
Tonight's Horizon asks why dramatic new discoveries in crops and animal breeding are not helping the families who should benefit, and tells the heartening story of a mountain community who, against all the odds, are determined to help themselves.
