A celebratory series of 13 programmes for Jubilee Year about craftsmen in Britain. 10: Fireworks
'... I don't know what it was about the fireworks that were sold in my childhood but they seemed to be much larger and they had much more exciting labels-there was a sort of magical touch about them and when I had brought them home from the shop I used to like to fetch them out every night and look at them and play with them-I can remember at times them getting quite cross about it and saying " If you don't stop playing with those we'll throw them on the fire! " '
Ronald Lancaster has not lost that original fascination with fireworks, despite being a housemaster and an ordained priest, except that now he doesn't have to get his fireworks from the shop ...

Since then members of the family have composed hymns, filled chapels and worked out their lives in brick works, steel works and coal mines. It is families like the Davids who are the bricks with which Port Talbot was built. Narrator PETER FRANCE

A documentary portrait of a sculptor and his work.
For a sculpture called Boy with a Dolphin he took up swimming in a dolphin pool; for a commission to sculpt a grizzly bear he went off to track the reclusive and dangerous grizzlies of the Canadian Rockies.
David Wynne has 11 sculptures prominently displayed in London, and many more around the world. He was recently commissioned to design the Queen's Jubilee Medal.
This film studies the life and work of an extraordinary artist, including the progress of one sculpture, a marble reclining nude for Bowood House, from sketch-pad to stone.
