Chinese Expedition Again
Ascends World's Highest Peak
Introduced by Chris Bonnington
'Our feet weigh tons. Lack of oxygen suffocates us. But Mao Tse-Tung Thought gives us strength. The theory of the proletarian dictatorship guides our course.'
For the Chinese, climbing a mountain is not just a sport; it is a political statement. They made this sensational film themselves to celebrate their triumph in scaling Mt Everest-or Jolmo Lungma as they call it-from Tibet. This is their film and their story, in which they tell of their magnificent adventure, their great courage and their total political dedication.

At 36, Josef Bloch is past his prime as goalkeeper with a German football team. During a match in Vienna, he storms off the pitch after a row with the referee.
