starring Arthur Brauss
At 36, Josef Bloch is past his prime as goalkeeper with a German football team. During a match in Vienna, he storms off the pitch after a row with the referee. The combination of his rage, frustration and anxiety leads him into a senseless murder; he becomes a fugitive, like a goalkeeper running to and fro without a ball but tensed and waiting for the game to involve him.
