The comic saga of the Blackadders, written by Richard Curtis and Ben Elton, confirmed its success when it reached the Tudor age in this, the first episode of the second series.
It is 1570, and a giggling Queen Elizabeth I is on the throne. Edmund Blackadder is the bastard great, great grandson of the repulsive original, and he adopts a position at court.

Tonight the stage is set for the last three young competitors (out of a total of six finalists) to play a complete concerto with orchestra. First prize is the Edward Boyle Prize and Princess Mary Gold Medal worth E3,500, but worth even more will be the worldwide engagements that will launch the winner on a lifetime's career as an international concert pianist.
