A vista of rusting cans and threadbare carpets, rotting fruit and old frying pans - a rubbish tip doesn't sound much like a wildlife reserve. And yet butterflies feast on the fruit, a slow-worm sneaks under the carpet, and the frying pan makes a fine bath for a starling.
