The last of four films exploring the issue of population and migration as part of the One World 94 season.

In Licinio Azevedo's intimate and moving film, Alexandre Ferrao and his extended family leave their refugee camp in Malawi, to return to their village in northern Mozambique. After more than ten years of civil war, they go home to the tree where they bade farewell, discussed marriage, baptised their children and paid their respects to the dead.

Referring to his own films including The Watchmaker of St Paul and Une Semaine de Vacances the film reveals the influence of this secretive city on one of the great film-makers of modern French cinema.
