I the Moon? Twelve astronauts have walked on the Moon's surface but some of them came down to earth with a bump.
"It wasn'tthe experience of flying to the Moon that changed my life, it was coming back to people who now expected different things of me ... people like to build up heroes, but then they think you're too perfect and they have to take you apart," says Buzz Aldrin , the second man to step on to the Moon, but who fell into depression and alcohol addiction after the Apollo missions.
Aldrin - now redeemed by the love of a good woman - is one of five former astronauts who talk about their lives in this third programme to mark the 25th anniversary of the first Moon landing. Others have discovered different forms of redemption: Charley Duke has turned to God; Al Bean paints lunar landscapes complete with a sprinkling of genuine moondust; Ed Mitchell has founded an institute devoted to psychokinesis and ESP; Pete Conrad has become a steer-wrestling rancher and part-time rocket scientist working on a plans for commercial flights to the Moon.
