A programme for children at home.
Presenters this week, Miranda Connell, John White
Today's story is called "Merrylegs" by Peter Wiltshire

Every day this week there's a real working model of a fairground roundabout. It turns around to an exciting sound for the poem which is about a merry-go-round. On Dressing-up Day, Tuesday, John plays a guessing game with different hats. On Wednesday, a toucan with a huge beak comes to visit the other pets in Play School. On Friday, in the experiment, Miranda divides a cake between the toys.

by Alan Plater
[Starring] Nigel Davenport as Donkin and Norman Rodway as Murphy
with Stephanie Bidmead as Mrs. Mellish, Fiona Walker as Susan, John Bryans as Mr. Mellish, Jill Melford as Mrs. Donkin
(Norman Rodway is a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company)

"An extremely entertaining and swift-flowing ninety minutes... A performance of deadly accuracy from Nigel Davenport as the raffish P.R.O." (The Times)

In the second of Alan Plater's three plays, the private relationships of a public relations man come under examination. Donkin can't resist women - and he can't help running away when, as invariably happens, his womanising gets him into trouble.
