Presenters this week Julie Stevens, Rick Jones
In the story chair, Myrtle Richardson

January falls the snow,
February cold winds blow,
In March peep out the early flowers,
And April comes with sunny showers.
These are the first lines of Play School's opening poem this week, and as it is the first day of the New Year Rick and Julie use ribbon, cardboard, string, and pictures from the Useful Box to make a calendar, which shows a different picture for each month of the year.
Today's story is called 'The Tale of Peter Rabbit' by Beatrix Potter
(to 11.20)

A time of change
A severing of roots
A readjustment

Mrs. Cooke was born in Victorian England. She has had a long, vigorous, independent life. Now after a lifetime of self-sufficiency she feels a prisoner in her own body; after eighteen years sharing a house with her daughter she will share a room with two other old ladies; Mrs. Cooke is moving into a Salvation Army home.
