Bill Murray 's Story. Written entirely from memory in prisonerof warcamps, W H Murray 's guide, Mountaineering in Scotland has inspired successive generations of climbers. In his first appearance on television, Murray recalls the inauspicious circumstances that led to his writing career.
Meanwhile, high on Ben Nevis , three modern climbers - Graham Moss , Alastair Cain and Mark Diggins - re-create his famous winter ascent of Tower Ridge - an exposed route on Britain's highest mountain and one which still traps the unwary. There is drama and breathtaking scenery as the trio make their determined way towards the summit. The programme also carries a serious message. The difficulty of Tower Ridge is made abundantly plain and climbers are left in no doubt that safety first must be their motto. Presented by Cameron McNeish.
