A conversation with Theodore Sorensen.
Many books are now being written by those who knew and worked with the late President Kennedy, some with slender material. The man who can speak with the most intimate knowledge is Theodore Sorensen, for twelve years Personal Assistant to Kennedy. In Kennedy's speeches and the quality of thought they expressed the Sorensen touch is evident. He saw the strains and triumphs of the White House days from the inside.
In this programme tonight he talks for the first time of his twelve years with President Kennedy.
Written and produced by Michael Gill.
Three studies of artists who wrote, as well as painted, their own self-portraits
Vincent van Gogh's painting career occupied only the last ten years of his life. Largely self-taught, misunderstood, constantly harried by ill-health and poverty, his life embodies in an extreme form the isolation of the modern artist. He left more than 800 paintings, but only one was sold in his own lifetime.
