Golf from Sunningdale: Panasonic European Open
If Sandy Lyle has a putt to win on the 72nd, it'll be worth £83,320, like the difference between going home to a smart semi in Surbiton or sleeping rough on the Old Course.
£50,000 of that is a bonus for doing the Open double. Nae bother to the Big Yin.

Cricket: John Player Special League
The rain really is becoming intolerable. Grandstand's on a hat-trick. Commentating on play today, Peter Walker and Christopher Martin-Jenkins

Motor Sport from Finland: 1000 Lakes Rally
A bit of up and past and quite a lot more from the rallymen led by the Peugeot 205 of Timo Salonen with Stig Blomquist closing fast. Murray Walker at 3.50*

Times will be screened on the hour and half hour, where appropriate.

The Welshmen,
Ivor Williams and Alan Green have repeated their performance of last year in reaching the semi-finals once again. But can they go one better this year and place their names on the Top Crown Trophy?
Their task looks sure to prove difficult as they take on Bob Hitchen and Roy Nicholson , both of whom have already won the tournament in the past but with different partners, and feel confident they've found a fresh winning combination. Introduced by Richard Duckenfield from the GEC Club, Stretford, Manchester.

Scoraig is a peninsula of scattered crofts in the western Highlands of Scotland. It is a beautiful but inhospitable place reached by footpath through the hills or by sea across a loch. The soil is poor, the winters long, the landscape dark on many days under clouds that roll in from the Atlantic. The last of the highlanders abandoned it 20 years ago and a new generation of crofters began to arrive, people mainly from the cities looking for a simple life. The film tells the story of what happened to them and what they have made of it. Narrator
