starring
Valerie Hobson , Jack Warner
One of Ealing's classic dramas built around the lives and loves of three separate groups of people. The stories are centred around an express journey from Euston to Liverpool and the dramatic consequences of a crash on the line. In typical Ealing fashion, authentic background, humour and con. flict are all cleverly interwoven in this ' portmanteau' film, which introduced Peter Finch to the British screen.

A series of nine films
1: We Won't Always Get it Right, You Won't Always Get it Right
Kirstin [text removed], the daughter of academic parents, is the object of their academic expectations. Darren [text removed], the son of a railway track-worker, has difficulty reading. Nicky [text removed], from a broken home, is gifted but disenchanted. Under any other educational system, these three children would be unlikely to go to the same school. At Kingswood they will all be in the same class.
This film follows Kirstin, Darren and Nicky from their first introduction to a Kingswood teacher in May, through to the end of their first day at secondary school in September. For at least the next five years, the expectations of three families and the apprehensions of three children will be focused on Kingswood. As Kirstin, Darren and Nicky come to terms with the school, so the school, and one form teacher in particular, must come to terms with them.
