In the third film report from British Antarctica Bob Langley, aboard the Royal Navy's Ice Patrol ship Endurance, becomes trapped in the ice in the Weddell Sea. It is like history repeating itself. In 1915 another Endurance, under the command of Sir Ernest Shackleton , was trapped in these very waters, triggering off a feat of survival which rates as one of the greatest of all escape stories.

The Wreck of the Mary Rose
It was a hot day in July 1545. England and France were at war again. French galleys 'ranged and scoured the seas even to the Isle of Wight', and King Henry VIII saw the French ships for himself from Southsea Castle, and he fretted, and his teeth stood on an edge to see the bravery of his enemies, to come so near his nose and he not able to encounter them.' He assembled his strongest fleet in Portsmouth Harbour and sent it out to do battle. As his great battleship, the Mary Rose , set sail with the rest of the fleet, she fired her first broadside, heeled violently to starboard, and sank. For more than 400 years the site of the wreck was forgotten and the Mary Rose was believed lost. Chronicle cameras were with the divers when the site was first yielding its secrets, ten years ago. This programme, first shown in 1980, brings you the story of the ship, the men who went down with her and a report on the people who excavated the site.

David Kaplan and Annika Sand strom first saw the partially derelict Lindean Mill on a Borders holiday in 1977. They immediately saw its potential as a studio glass workshop and now, after renovating it, produce handmade glassware of their own design, using traditional Scandinavian techniques.
