Romania is a Communist State, but 80 per cent of the population have no doubt that they are Orthodox Christians.
' How free is the priest to criticise the State that pays his wages? This isn't just a question for today. Orthodoxy has 1,500 years of involvement with governments, whoever they happen to be, and it knows about survival.'
There are about 150 million Orthodox Christians-as far apart as Finland and Japan, but mostly in Eastern Europe and the Balkans. A Case Against School Spying
Have you ever wondered why you didn't get that job or promotion? Or why your teenage son or daughter wasn't accepted for further education? The reason could be mis-use of confidential school records. Tonight's programme exposes the existence of Secret Schools Dossiers and invites you to question the right of local education authorities to collect private information about school-children and their parents.'

Experiences of joy, sorrow, bereavement, doubt - or inner moments of truth that may defy rational explanation. In these programmes people are invited to give first-hand accounts of something that has real personal significance for them.
When Labour MP John Stonehouse disappeared off the coast of Miami in November 1974, most people regarded it as a political scandal, but to his wife Barbara it was rejection by the man she loved. Then she received a huge amount of public sympathy and it gave her the courage she needed to carry on. "It was like a religious experience and gave me tremendous inner strength."
