Richard Seabrook ,
Freelance Farmworker
Richard Seabrook is an old-fashioned sort of man who has found a new way of working, keeping a flock of sheep of his own and hiring himself out by the day, or the week, or the job. The gang he gets together each spring shears 20,000 sheep: moving from farm to farm across East Anglia working, joking and refreshing their thirst. ' One of my mottoes,' he says, ' is to live life right to the full, every day as if it were the last.' On the strength of that they got him into the pulpit to preach the Harvest Festival sermon.

... the first women's attempt on the 20,000-foot Himalayan peak of Bakhor Das
... the wildlife on the Atherton Tablelands of Australia
... Campa Indians in the remote jungle of Peru.
The teams, using Super 8mm equipment, were all inexperienced film-makers - among them students and teachers, a writer, a housewife, an artist and a salesman. Tonight, one of the six teams will win the Award presented by the BBC Natural History Unit and the Royal Geographical Society as a tribute to the cameraman Mick Burke , who lost his life during the first ascent of the south-west face of Mount Everest.

This week:
Hospitals - Surgery Required?
We nearly all have views about hospitals - as patients, professionals or just visitors, or perhaps as tax-payers. While some hospitals are costing 12 million pounds and taking 12 years to build, others go up at half the cost, in half the time. Have the planners got things wrong? Could savings be made - and spent on better equipment and better pay for doctors and nurses, or more hospitals?
Tonight Leslie Chapman , ex-civil servant and author of the recent furore-causing book Your Disobedient Servant, claims that bureaucratic muddle is wasting millions. A former chief architect at the Department of Health supports him. On film Jenny Conway examines the anatomy of hospital building and listens to arguments which have rumbled for years, but of which the tax-payer is barely aware.
