World Professional Snooker Championship
Seven days in and Round 2 gets under way in earnest in Sheffield. But durability is only one of the characteristics needed to win this title. If you can't win 13 frames, you won't make the quarter-finals!
STEVE DAVIS plays frames 9-17 against MIKE HALLETT - live coverage of that continuing match - and news, too, of the opening eight frames between TONY KNOWLES and SILVINO FRANCISCO.
Introduced from the Crucible Theatre by DAVID ICKE.

Welcome back! There's been a 20-minute lunch break ... now on with further news of the morning's play, plus the opening eight frames in the match between ALEX HIGGINS - if he's survived his first-round encounter with Tony Drago - and DENNIS TAYLOR. On the other table
STEPHEN HENDRY and JIMMY WHITE play the middle eight frames of their match - and only a tournament like this could throw up a second-round clash certainly worthy of being a semi-final! Good viewing just the same.

The year is 1951, the people of Britain are rebuilding their lives after the Second World
War, prices are spiralling and Festival magic is in the air. Yet on the other side of the world, men from the Gloucestershire Regiment are about to fight an epic battle in a forgotten war - on the Imjin River in Korea. Outnumbered 30 to one, with no food, no sleep and dwindling ammunition, barely 1,000 Gloucesters held two Chinese armies at bay for four days and nights.
Thirty-seven years on, the veterans of that conflict remember the gallantry of those who died and the cruelty and privation suffered at the hands of their captors.
