The Bobby and the Birds
Not every police constable can hope to see a life-long dream come true - especially if his dream is to make hundreds of acres of some of the loveliest - and most expensive - land in Britain a permanent sanctuary for wild life. Oddly enough it was the coming of a vast modern industrial plant to the middle of Anglesey that enabled PC Ken Williams to realise his ambition. The Samurai from Twickenham Narrator Michael Dean
Michael Jay is an airline pilot from Twickenham whose obsessive interest lies on the other side of the world, in Japan. Having won his black belt in judo, he became deeply involved in the martial arts of that exclusive warrior class, the Samurai. Married into a Japanese family, he is now accepted by the descendents of the fighting horsemen of the Soma Region as a Samurai himself - indeed he has become the only foreigner to take part in the Soma Wild Horse Chase, an event that dates back to the days when the warriors rode out to round up the wild horses.

A re-creation of Wainwright's 40-year love affair with Scotland. 2: The North- Western
Highlands
The towering giants of Torridon and the five sisters of Kintail combine to make this one of Wainwright's favourite regions. Yet since he first came here there have been dramatic changes, 'that have robbed this district of its former loneliness and sombre atmosphere'. But while Kishorn may have changed dramatically - and places like Sheildaig more subtly - 'A.W.' was relieved to discover that the high places have remained as he first remembered them.
