with Eric Robson
A re-creation of Wainwright's 40-year love affair with Scotland. 2: The North- Western
Highlands
The towering giants of Torridon and the five sisters of Kintail combine to make this one of Wainwright's favourite regions. Yet since he first came here there have been dramatic changes, 'that have robbed this district of its former loneliness and sombre atmosphere'. But while Kishorn may have changed dramatically - and places like Sheildaig more subtly - 'A.W.' was relieved to discover that the high places have remained as he first remembered them.
