For the last ten years Hope Bourne has lived alone in a tiny caravan in one of the wildest parts of Exmoor. She is a tough, independent woman, determined to survive the hardships of the intolerant moor. In this film, made during the bleak days of winter, she describes the joy and the heartaches of her solitary way of life.

The second of seven Chronicle films
In AD 360 a Roman gentleman farmer commissioned a mosaic for the private chapel of his country house. In 1978 an English gentleman farmer had it excavated and restored as a tourist attraction. The famous Orpheus mosaic, which may well depict a pagan mystery religion that rivalled Christianity in the Roman Empire, was accidentally discovered in the 18th century. Lost for 250 years, it was only found again in 1977 and has been restored by the present owner of the Littlecote Estate
David Seton Wills. me excavauon 01 me no- man settlement provides some unexpected'parallels between the life styles of ' the two gentleman farmers in Wiltshire - the Roman and the modern - separated by almost 2,000 years.
