A major exhibition of paintings and drawings by Thomas Gains borough, assembled from all over the world, opened at the Tate Gallery in London yesterday.
Edwin Mullins visits the exhibition, which traces the painter's career from Suffolk to Bath and London, and discusses the work of one of England's greatest artists -painter of portraits, landscapes and what he called his 'fancy Pictures '.
