Tonight from BBC North East The Hobby Horses of George Bowman
GEORGE BOWMAN is a Cumbrian businessman who appropriately was born in a coaching town - Penrith - where he still lives.
Scrap is his business, but horses are his hobby and as he freely admits ' it's a hobby gone wild.' In one of Britain's youngest competitive sports - four-in-hand driving - he has won the British championship three years in succession and earned the respect and admiration of his fellow competitors, including his most famous ' rival ', The Duke of Edinburgh.
Tonight Network looks at the hobby and the sport, with comments from Prince Philip on the technique and outstanding ability that could make George Bowman a future World Champion. Narrated by JAKE KELLY

The first of a new summer series of ten programmes
Julian Pettifer and his guests Phil Drabble, Elizabeth Eyden and Bernard Price meet to describe and discuss the sights and sounds of the British countryside.
Foxes: their natural role as predators, and less natural behaviour in the chicken run. Should they be controlled, and if so, how?
Thatching: now an expensive way of roofing. Country Game visits East Anglia to find out why, and to see how it's done.
