Social Integration: Family Comedy
Written and presented by Ian Grimble
Craigievar Castle
Among the castles of Mar, Craigievar owes its unique fascination to the fact that it has been preserved intact, almost exactly as it was designed early in the 17th century.
Its builder is descended from the medieval Forbes barons, but he earned himself the name Danzig Willie , as one of Scotland's earliest merchant princes.

Western democracies there is a positive right of access to all but the most sensitive of official information. Why is Britain so different?

Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Defence, Andrew Neil , editor of the Sunday
Times and Des Wilson of the Freedom of Information Campaign discuss with Jonathan Dimbleby the proper role of the media in a democracy.

Voice of the Whip
For centuries, semi-nomadic Arabs, principally from the Kababish tribal group, have been bringing camels along the '40-day road' from central Sudan to the camel markets of Egypt.
Voice of the Whip follows one group as they make the arduous 800-mile trip across great stretches of desert, from grasslands and rivers to empty sand flats; from evading thieves and battling sandstorms to stopping for supplies and the joyous arrival at the Nile.
During the journey a conflict emerges between an apprentice trail boss and his mentor. The headstrong
Yousif leaves his companions and endangers his animals by pushing ahead in an attempt to complete the trail first. Photography NED JOHNSTON Film editor DAVID HOPE Directors
