A Personal History
Written and presented by Michael Frayn
Set in the middle of an inhospitable desert and perched 3,000 feet in the air,
Jerusalem is a city with only one means of support. It has no minerals no agriculture, no real trade - just one invisible resource - holiness. For 3,000 years it has been the holiest city in the world - the only city holy to three different religions.
Playwright and journalist Michael Frayn visited
Jerusalem during the high season of holiness when
Passover tourists and Easter pilgrims arrive in search of the source of their faith, to trace the violent history of this strangest of all holy places.
