The fourth of 13 films featuring the rediscovered work of amateur cameramen.
Introduced by James Cameron
A home-made film ' says he title at the beginning of this reel, bought in a junkshop. It's a film portrait of the village of St Boswells in the Scottish Lowlands- or rather a portrait of the villagers themselves and its simple, direct style -builds up a moving picture of its subjects' lives, to establish its unknown maker as something of a naive genius of the cinema.

Japan and the Legacy of the Samurai
A series of seven films
Narrated by Julian Pettifer
5: The World in a Bowl of Tea
In the 14th century the recently imported fashion of tea drinking offered an excuse for exuberant parties accompanied by communal bathing, gambling and drunkenness, but by 1600, the start of the Edo period, it had developed into a semi-religious ritual, in an atmo sphere of refined simplicity.

As our towns and cities grow and change, old structures constantly give way to the new. But before the men with the big iron ball arrive the doomed building may be cannibalised. Panel, staircase, stained glass, knocker, loo - any disposable bygone of fashionable or interesting design and superior craftsmanship will be recycled into some new environment, enriching the entrepreneur, who knows what will sell, and where. But this documentary film charts the progress of some of the more unusual 'transplants' saved from the apocalypse by Nick Mead.

A front porch from Beckenham reborn as a gazebo in Atlanta, Georgia. A 'belle epoque' conservatory born again as a human 'birdcage' in a chic restaurant. A peal of bells from Marylebone, melted down and recast as 'Trinity' the new tenor that rings out from Canterbury Cathedral.
