Charles Rennie Mackintosh Hill House

on BBC Two England

How do you design a country house? When Charles Rennie
Mackintosh built Hill House near
Glasgow in 1902 for waiter
Blackie, a Glasgow publisher, he was told to design the inside before the outside. But there were other influences on his style. This programme shows the exterior and interior of the house and the original decoration and furniture.
Walter Blackie 's own memoirs are used to show the creative relationship between client and architect.
