A home-made film ' says he title at the beginning of this reel, bought in a junkshop. It's a film portrait of the village of St Boswells in the Scottish Lowlands- or rather a portrait of the villagers themselves and its simple, direct style -builds up a moving picture of its subjects' lives, to establish its unknown maker as something of a naive genius of the cinema.
