An Open Door programme made by the Jubilee 77 Association of Blackbird Leys
Oxford conjures an instant image of dreaming spires and punts on the river. But on the other side of the city by-pass is the other image -Blackbird Leys, a huge estate deprived of amenities. It was the street parties for the Queen's Jubilee which gave rise to an idea: a community association which would look after its own, especially the young, sick and elderly. All this, and more, has happened - largely through the energies of the Association's founder and leading light, Cath Walters. .. Keep pushing' is her motto. ' Just get it into your head that you want something done - and do it!'

A series of eight programmes 6: Reluctant Rebel
In a remote rural area of Canada lives a close-knit Christian sect whose lifestyle has remained unchanged for four centuries. Grace Jantzen grew up in this community, but love of knowledge led her to question its values and study alternative philosophy to life. Her inquisitiveness cost her marriage, career, family and friends. Grace talks about building a new life, different from but indebted to her Mennonite heritage. 'Their greatest gift to me was a life-shaping hunger for truth, yet in the end it was that which forced me to leave the community, a reluctant rebel'
