England v Ireland Wales v France
NIGEL STARMER-SMITH introduces highlights of yesterday's internationals. England captain Bill Beau mont had to raise his side's performance after their draw with Scotland if they were to withstand the challenge of the Irish with Ollie Campbell back in form.
Wales could take comfort from the fact that their record at Cardiff in the Championship was unblemished since 1968 and that Grand Slam Champions, France, were rebuilding their side.

The Samurai from Twickenham The Soma Wild Horse Chase Narrator MICHAEL DEAN
Michael Jay is an Englishman born, as he says, ' in the wrong place at the wrong time'. He's a 35-year-old airline pilot from Twickenham whose obsessive interest lies on the other side of the world, in Japan. Having won his black belt in judo, he became deeply involved in the martial arts of that exclusive warrior class, the samurai. For ten years he has practised the skills of sword and horsemanship.
Married into a Japanese family, he is now accepted by the descendants of the fighting horsemen of the Soma region as a samurai himself -indeed he has become the only foreigner to take part in the Soma Wild Horse Chase. It is an event that dates back 1,000 years, to the days when the warriors rode out to round up the wild horses. Today the ' Chase' continues the tradition of great samurai battles of centuries past.

starring Geraldine Fitzgerald Robert Helpmann and Christopher Pate as Jamie
Christmas Eve: a small country town in Queensland. Seventeen-year-old Jamie Carr is fascinated by news of the ' war to end all wars', bemused by the town's drunken professor and over-awed by the strong-willed Grandma Carr. For Jamie this will be the last year of his boyhood and the start of his life outside the township. This award-winning film, based on a best-selling Australian novel by Ronald McKie , makes superb use of the locations and period setting.
