A kind of love story.
This film celebrates the warmth, affection and enthusiasm that women of all ages, and from every background, feel for their horses. It gathers together a rich and varied collection of characters. To many of them, horses have brought fun and happiness; to some, heartbreak. Few are conventionally ' horsey ' people, but all share this unbridled passion.
In Suffolk, a lady farrier shoes heavy horses. In Lancashire, a mounted policewoman is engulfed by football fans. A London messenger girl looks for a space to park. In Lincolnshire a church organist, knocked out on Easter Day, and thrown again on Easter Monday, climbs on for more. And in Hampshire a housewife who has given way to temptation five times already wonders if this time she can resist.

Germany Under the British
A series of five programmes which looks at British rule in Germany after the Second World War.
Written by PATRICK O'DONOVAN Narrated by Leo McKern 4: Make Germany Pay
At the 1945 Potsdam Conference the Allies allowed defeated Germany a standard of living somewhat below that of 1936. Surplus capacity was to be shared out as reparations. With heavy industry concentrated in their Zone, the British carried out the largest share of the controversial industrial dismantling policy. There were suspicions that the opportunity was being taken to eliminate future competitors in world markets. Cabinet minutes now shed some light on this.
But an unproductive Germany became an intolerable burden on the conquering taxpayers. In the end they had to make Germany pay - for itself. Among those taking part: Major-General Sir Alec Bishop Ernst-Christian von Werthen The Earl of Longford
Sir Frank Roberts , Lance Pope

Starring Dustin Hoffman, Barbara Harris

Actually Kellerman is Georgie Solloway, successful rock musician - or rather the mysterious 'stranger' who inhabits his inner mind. This unusual serio-comedy mixes fantasy and reality in its portrait of 24 hours in the life of a man at a crisis point in his career and existence.
Dustin Hoffman gives a characteristically exuberant performance as the schizophrenic Georgie.
