with Harold Williamson
What makes people do the job they do? A series of three programmes about the chronic housing shortage.
Two bailiffs, Roger Mann and Peter Yeo, deliver notices of distress to people who fall behind with their rents. If you haven't paid the rent in five days, furniture will be removed and auctioned. They are hard men who take a hard line, and regard the human race cynically. "I've been offered money, sex - from men and women. I turn them down. There's a job to be done no matter what, I'm afraid."

Introduced by Melvyn Bragg

In this very personal film portrait, Dory Previn, singer/songwriter, talks to Harley Cokliss about her life, especially as it is reflected in her songs.
The film features 11 of her best songs including: 'Atlantis,' 'Esther's First Communion,' 'Mary C. Brown and the Hollywood Sign,' 'Did Jesus Have a Baby Sister?' - recorded at a concert she gave earlier this year at Chapman College in Orange, California.
2nd House had repeatedly invited Dory Previn to appear here but she never managed the trip. She hates travelling and refuses to fly. So we flew to Southern California.
