Cuban television is 25 years old. In 1959 when Castro came to power, the Revolutionary Government took it over. Today, Cuban television must rank as one of the most purposeful services in the world. Every programme, whether it's comedy, drama, music, soap opera, carries a message - educational, cultural or political propaganda. Every section of the community has its own show, from schoolchildren to factory workers. It's all for the good of the people and they seem to enjoy it. There's no alternative, but as you'll see from tonight's examples, it's far from dull.
