Death- of the Dinosaurs
One of the greatest mysteries of all time occurred 65 million years ago. There was a mass extinction of life. Three-quarters of all known species living on the earth were wiped out. Perhaps the best-known of all the animals that disappeared in this catastrophe were the dinosaurs. Had they survived it is possible that we human beings would never have evolved. What caused these extinctions has long puzzled scientists. Recently, however, a theory has been proposed that may begin to account for them. It suggests that the killer came from space.
