This week: Allergies - What's Your Poison?
Do you break out in blotches if you eat strawberries? Itch if you stroke a cat? Wheeze when the pollen count is high? Then you share a commonplace allergy with millions.
But some people's allergies have a more unusual cause - newsprint can trigger off a sneezing fit, plastic brings tears to the eyes, and the metal clasps on bras or suspender belts raise painful welts on the shoulders and legs.
In this week's Man Alive, Nick Ross and Jeanne La Chard talk to allergy sufferers and discuss with doctors and psychiatrists the new and controversial theory that some states of depression and even serious mental illness can be caused by an allergic reaction to such everyday foods as bread or milk.
