Eight explorations with Professor W.G. Hoskins

On the lonely northern coastline of Norfolk there is an incessant battle between land and sea, in which the fortunes of small communities can change overnight.
Professor Hoskins looks at the way generations of people, peasant and lord, have adapted to this soft coastline of marsh and inlet. Ana he shows how a village green was once a port; a ruined church the site of a once-prosperous village, a grand church that speaks of former glory; and how the daily wandering of ancient cattle can shape a modern road.

"There can be few more convivial and enlightening companions to fall in alongside on a journey through the English countryside than Professor William Hoskins." (Daily Telegraph)

Law-breakers, law-enforcers, lawyers, the law-in 13 frank documentary films set in Florida, USA. 5: There's No Justice in Law
A courtroom clash of two formidable personalities - Judge Ellen Morphonios and Defence Attorney Al Sepe. Their courtroom collision concerns one Felix Ruiz , a man with a bad record who has been spotted near the scene of a burglary. Sepe appeals to the principle that mere presence at the scene of a crime is not in itself a crime. To no avail. On the very same day the hapless Ruiz appears again before Judge Morphonios as accessory after the fact to the murder of a policeman. Sepe's painstaking search for an unbiased jury is steam-rollered by a Judge determined to complete her quota of cases, and when she comes to pronounce sentence, ' The Time Machine', as Judge Morphonios is affectionately called, lives up to all expectations.
