Based on the novel by Emma Smith

Nanette and Maggie find that without Charity they are inadequate. Nanette summons a chance-met mariner, Wilfred, to their aid. He proves a useful pair of hands, but a great enigma. From him they learn the perils of poker and whisky.

Earlier this evening Her Majesty The Queen boarded the Royal Yacht Britannia at Portsmouth in preparation for tomorrow's Silver Jubilee

We see her arrival, part of the Royal Marine ceremony of Beating Retreat, the evening colours ceremony aboard Ark Royal, Britain's largest warship and, live, the moment at ten o'clock when the floodlighting is switched on aboard the waiting ships at anchor.

Memories - some tears and some laughing. When he comes to tea, it's almost as good as an engagement ring for a Lancashire lass. Lancashire? Yes, but Yorkshire's dun the road, Cheshire across the street and Derbyshire at the bottom of the road.
It was one of the best ways of fusing music and television we have seen. It gave a new dimension to the pop world.
