1: Yeoman William Brammer
The Queen's Bodyguard of the Yeomen of the Guard
This series of six films features men and women who serve The Queen in a ceremonial or practical capacity.
It starts tonight with the Yeomen of the Guard. Founded by Henry VII in 1485 as a fighting force, it is the oldest military corps in the world, and is the sovereign's personal bodyguard in attendance at various state occasions and ceremonies. Bill Brammer , like all the Yeomen of the Guard, was a serviceman for 22 years, and in this profile he describes his career as a Life Guard and as a Yeoman.
