The John Player League Sussex v Surrey
On 29 August last year it was possible Sussex would win the John Player League outright, and in the televised match at Hove that day the gates had to be shut with over 10,000 spectators inside. In the event, although Sussex won that day against Essex, they were to be eventually beaten into joint second place - not by bat and ball but by the computer.

Greenpeace Voyages to Save the Whale

Since the heroic adventures with Moby Dick {the great white sperm whale), man's attitude to whales and whaling has changed greatly. Now there is strong sympathy for these gentle giants. But whaling still goes on. Over 25,000 whales were killed last season and Britain imported about 8,500 metric tons of sperm whale oil, resulting in the death of some 2,500 whales. Tomorrow the International Whaling Commission meets to decide the quota each nation can catch next season.
This programme is about one group's dramatic efforts to stop the killing before the world runs out of whales.

Every summer, in a Renaissance viUa high above the city of Florence, TITO GOBBI holds a summer school for young singers.
Last year The Lively Arts showed a programme about the school; this second film concentrates entirely on a number of master classes, all previously unseen, and provides a fuller opportunity to watch the Maestro passing on the knowledge and techniques he has gained from 40 years of singing.
