The John Player Cup Final Gosforth v Rosslyn Park
The leadership of Rosslyn Park's captain Phil Keith-Roach has been a factor in the London club's success in reaching the final for the second year running. Their opponents Gosforth are the first Northern club to reach this stage in the competition and hope for the return of Roger Uttley, who missed the major part of the season with a leg injury.

Simon Lacey , an out-patient at a mental hospital, collects some barbiturates from the dispensary and unwittingly distributes the ' sweets' to some children. The local hospital is soon full of unconscious children, some of whom die, and the police begin a desperate search for others who may have taken the tablets.
