Janette Maxwell : Starcross
Comprehensive School, Islington
JANETTE MAXWELL is 18 years old. She goes to Starcross Girls' Comprehensive in Islington. She's a girl of tremendous vitality and with many different interests. She's got 0-levels in English, French, Biology and Art and has just done A-level English and Art.
But her great love is the dance and she longs to be a professional. She teaches the younger girls in the school and every evening she's out teaching at various local youth centres.
Janette takes advantage of every facility the school and the area offer her. Above all she enjoys life and transmits her enjoyment to those around her.

The first in a season of films featuring the work of ace crime writer Raymond Chandler
Tonight starring Dick Powell Claire Trevor , Anne Shirley
This tough, fast-moving film version of Raymond Chandler 's famous thriller is perhaps the best screen adaptation of his work. Dick Powell makes a perfect Marlowe and Mike Mazurki appears in the role he was born to play as the giant' Moose' Malloy.
Private eye Philip Marlowe is asked by violent, simple-minded ex-con Moose' Malloy to find his former girl friend, Velma. His search involves him - as usual - in a lot of trouble, several murders and plenty of gun-play.
