Edwin Mullins looks at six unusual London Museums.

Apsley House, the home of the hero of Waterloo, was known as No 1 London. Wellington chose the contents and arranged their setting. They're still there: the old master paintings (Goya, Velasquez, Rubens); the military honours that were heaped on him by grateful monarchs, who thanks to Wellington had got their kingdoms back; the larger-than-life statue of his old adversary Napoleon; the largest silver service in the world-all in a setting appropriate for the most famous man in Europe.
