A prize-winning documentary from Polish Television reports on a favourite continental sport. October marks the end of the outdoor cycling year, and Europa looks back on one of the top amateur races in the European cycling calendar.
'The Peace Race' runs through Poland, East Germany and Czechoslovakia. For 16 days, over 1,000 miles, amateur cyclists test their skill and endurance. Just how much perseverance is needed as well as the rivalry and ambition which spurs on the competitors is shown by following one cyclist. He is a 21-year-old Danish student who rode in the shadow of The Bus labelled The End
