A series of ten programmes
with Neil Cossons
The last of the series looking at our industrial heritage-the richest legacy in Europe of monuments of the Industrial Revolution.

The most unobtrusive and familiar sign of the Industrial Revolution is the canal. One of the last and most spectacular was John Rennie's Kennet and Avon built to link 'the Irish and German Oceans.' Still partly navigable today, it boasts the oldest working steam engine in the world to draw its water.
