The second film in Andrzej Wajda's epic trilogy of Polish youth in the Second World War
Starring Wienczylaw Glinski, Tadeusz Janczar, Teresa Izewska

"Kanal" is the story of the heroic Warsaw Rising of September 1944 when the Polish Resistance rose up against the Nazis who had razed the city to the ground.
Wajda's film follows the life-or-death struggle of a small group of freedom fighters who take to the sewers of Warsaw as the Nazis close in during the last desperate hours of the rising.
