On 6 May 1954 amateur athlete Roger Bannister made history by breaking the four-minute mile, a challenge that, up until then, had tantalisingly eluded runners from around the world. To celebrate the 50th anniversary, this documentary chronicles the events that led up to a unique sporting triumph for the young medical student on an Oxford running track, aided by his two pacemakers Chris Brasher and Chris Chataway.
