Live coverage of the concluding sessions from this year's quarter-finals at Sheffield's Crucible Theatre.
At this stage last year Stephen Lee beat Marco Fu 13-7 to reach the semi-finals for the first time. Relying on his superior long potting game, Lee pulled ahead 9-4 after winning five successive frames in the second session, then making his intentions clear by winning a frame from 72-0 down to reach 10-5. Although Fu refused to give up, it was not enough to end his best run at the Crucible - he had not won a game in Sheffield before then.
Ken Doherty booked his place in the semis after beating John Higgins 13-8 in a rollercoastertie. After losing the first ten frames Higgins pulled the score back to 10-6, and then won the first frame of the final session to increase the pressure on Doherty, with all signs pointing to him bringing the match to 10-8. But Doherty managed to stem the tide, winning the 18th frame on the black, before making the score 12-7 in the next. Higgins pulled one frame back but it was not enough to stop him going out at the quarter-final stage for the second year in a row, as Doherty claimed the 13-8 win in the first frame after the interval.
Introduced by Ray Stubbs with commentary by Ray Edmonds , Clive Everton , Terry Griffiths , Dennis Taylor ,
