The government's task group, set up to look at assessment and testing, has proposed a sophisticated system of ten achievement levels designed to get away from the idea of 'passing' or 'failing'. But can this new system be made to work in both secondary and primary schools, and what will it actually mean for the pupils in the classroom?

It's a considerable compensation for losing a licence, but is it legal?

The delights she's discovered include a calico grotto in a London kitchen, a lost domain in Yorkshire, a richly-panelled hotel saloon with an unexpected past....
