Out of Court

on BBC Two England

Presented by David Jessel and Sue Cook
Aiding and abetting a criminal act is against the law. So is conspiring to pervert the course of justice. But many insurance policies let convicted drink-drivers claim money to cover taxis and chauffeurs.
It's a considerable compensation for losing a licence, but is it legal?
Government lawyers must now decide whether such insurance policies should be outlawed on the grounds that they constitute inducements to commit crime.
