With the opening of Barfly, a new film based on the life of the poet Charles Bukowski , Kevin Jackson examines the myth of the literary lush.
Next month sees the launch of More. Ten women's magazines have been launched in the last year, most of them filled with recipes rather than career advice. Are women shedding their careers in favour of domestic bliss? Jane Thynne , Media Editor of the Daily Telegraph investigates. Directors ANDREW

Last of six films
The Barcelona Chair
It was designed by MIES VAN DER ROHE for the King of Spain to sit on during the 1929 Barcelona World's Fair. Expensive, austere, it's as much a work of architecture as Mies's influential, if stark, buildings.
It's a chair to admire rather than to settle back in, a status symbol for the international corporation rather than the sitting room. But it's still very much in production, an icon with its roots in the Bauhaus and the heroic age of modem design. Narrated by Jancis Robinson with Penny Sparke Richard Seymour Dick Powell and Arthur Drexler Executive producer CHRISTOPHER MARTIN
